About Mercor

Mercor's mission is to organize human intelligence to power the AI economy. We're a leading AI data company, building the layer between human expertise and frontier models. Millions of domain experts on the platform are paid over $4 million per day to train frontier AI models. Mercor's APEX benchmark family measures AI's real-world impact on professional work. Mercor Enterprise brings this same infrastructure to Fortune 500 companies: helping companies capture how their best people actually work, translating that expertise directly back into agents.

Mercor is creating a new category of work where expertise powers AI advancement. Achieving this requires an ambitious, fast-paced and deeply committed team. You’ll work alongside researchers, operators, and AI companies at the forefront of shaping the systems that are redefining society. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion. We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices. About the Role As an Legal Engagement Manager, you will help legal tech companies, application-layer AI companies, and law firms post-train and evaluate models for legal work. You'll serve as their primary point of contact from first conversation through delivery. Your legal training is central to the role. You'll help customers define what high-quality legal work looks like, turn it into evaluations and training data, and work with Mercor's network of lawyers to produce it. You'll also lead commercial processes for new and existing customers and help leadership find and unblock growth in the legal market.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of legal tech companies, application-layer companies, and law firms, from first meeting through delivery and expansion

  • Lead commercial processes for new and existing business, including scoping, pricing, and contracting

  • Work with customer, product, and research teams to design evaluations and post-training data for legal tasks such as contract review, legal research, drafting, and litigation support

  • Translate legal practice into rubrics and task specifications that models can be trained and measured against

  • Help recruit and calibrate lawyer experts on Mercor's platform, and work with operations to track quality and timelines

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer questions, issues, and escalations, and drive them to resolution

  • Forecast revenue and surface opportunities for account growth

Ideally You'd Have

  • JD required; bar admission and experience practicing at a law firm or in-house strongly preferred

  • 4+ years of total work experience, which may include legal practice, legal tech, or consulting for legal clients

  • A track record in client-facing roles and in building and expanding relationships

  • Strong interest in how AI is changing legal work; familiarity with LLMs, model evaluation, or legal tech products is a plus

  • Comfort working with ML and engineering stakeholders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the precision expected of a practicing lawyer

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary w/ aggressive bi-annual performance bonus structure + meaningful equity (aligned with a venture-backed, rapidly scaling AI company)

  • $1.5K monthly stipend for meals

  • Free Equinox membership

  • $200 monthly laundry/housekeeping reimbursement

  • $200 monthly personal wellness reimbursement

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Up to $15k Relocation bonus

  • $10K proximity bonus (if you live within 0.5 miles of our office)
