Full job description
Description
Amazon Autos is reinventing how people discover, research, and buy cars. Paid search/Discovery is one of our most important demand-generation channels, connecting high-intent car shoppers to the Amazon Autos experience at the exact moment they're looking. The Search Discovery channel is how we show up across paid search and adjacent discovery surfaces to drive qualified traffic, maximize channel efficiency, and improve the shopper experience end to end.
We are seeking a hands-on, highly analytical Marketing Manager to manage the Search Discovery channel for Amazon Autos. This is a true channel-manager role: you will run day-to-day campaign management and optimization of Paid Search as our primary channel, with YouTube as a key secondary channel, and you'll help shape how we show up in emerging search-based channels (vehicle listing ads, AI Agent Ads, etc.). You will be actively managing campaigns in the ad platforms, with expertise in how to structure, optimize, and scale campaigns. The role requires a highly analytical mindset and a curiosity to seek out new possibilities. You'll read performance both at a top-line channel level and granularly within the campaign structure, and you'll be as strong on the technical side of marketing as you are on the creative and experimental side, consistently using one to inform the other. You will be accountable for your channel's day-to-day performance, applying learnings across campaigns and surfaces as the channel grows, and partnering with more senior colleagues on the bets that are larger or more ambiguous.
The successful candidate will think strategically and execute rigorously. You must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You will anticipate and remove bottlenecks, make tradeoffs with limited guidance, and balance business needs against constraints. You will dive into performance data, incremental business impact, and budget pacing for your channel, which requires strong analytical skills. You Earn Trust with your stakeholders, including the product, creative, and business development teams, to whom you'll deliver clear, performance-driven feedback and recommendations that help inform future campaigns and designs. You will look ahead for growth opportunities or identify potential challenges and present solutions to solve them.
Key job responsibilities
-
Own day-to-day management and optimization of Paid Search (primary channel) and YouTube (secondary), hands-on in the ad platforms
-
Drive performance through continuous optimization: bidding, budget pacing, keyword and audience strategy, and campaign structure, at both a top-line and granular level
-
Design, launch, and read out A/B tests to improve channel efficiency and inform new campaign strategy
-
Conduct creative analysis and deliver clear, data-backed feedback to the creative team to strengthen future campaigns
-
Help develop and scale our presence in emerging off-Amazon, search-based discovery channels
-
Translate performance data into actionable insights and concise business recommendations, refining them with senior colleagues to ensure they're actionable
-
Support channel budget planning and OP1/OP2 inputs by scoping spend, flagging efficiency opportunities, and helping recommend where to invest next
A day in the life
You'll start your day checking performance on your Google and YouTube campaigns (pacing, spend, and conversion trends) and making optimizations directly in the ad platforms. Mid-morning you might dig into a campaign that's underperforming, restructure ad groups or adjust bids, and set up an A/B test to validate a new approach. After lunch, you're analyzing creative performance and pulling together feedback for the creative team on what's resonating and what isn't. Later in the week, you might build a readout on channel performance, size an opportunity in an emerging search surface, and work with your manager on where to invest next. The work moves constantly between hands-on execution and deep analysis, and you'll always have multiple campaigns and tests in flight.
About the team
We're the marketing team at Amazon Autos, responsible for driving broad awareness of a marketplace that's fundamentally changing how people buy cars. You'll work alongside Creative, Analytics, and Product teams who are building something that's never existed in automotive retail. We test constantly, share learnings openly, and push each other to get better. If you enjoy a start-up environment, where you get to build from 0 to 1 and no two days are the same, this may be the role for you.
Basic Qualifications
-4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
-Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
-Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
-Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns

-Experience delivering paid media campaigns spanning TV, print ads and digital/social channels
-Experience across affiliate marketing, PPC, SEM and social media advertising
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in multi-territory campaign management
-Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process
