Overview

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Infrastructure Administrator to join a small, highly visible infrastructure team responsible for supporting and evolving the company's Linux environment. This individual will be one of two primary administrators supporting mission-critical Linux systems, including the company's SAP landscape.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 3+ years of Linux administration experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a solid understanding of Linux best practices, deployments, and automation concepts.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to cloud infrastructure, virtualization, storage, backups, and enterprise SAP environments while working for a financially stable, family-owned organization known for its exceptional culture and benefits.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Administer and support enterprise Linux environments (primarily SUSE Linux with some Red Hat)

  • Serve as a key resource for Linux troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system maintenance

  • Support SAP and other critical business applications hosted on Linux

  • Participate in infrastructure deployments, upgrades, patching, and automation initiatives

  • Assist with storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions

  • Create and manage virtual machines in VMware and other virtualization platforms

  • Support data center operations including hardware, cabling, and infrastructure maintenance

  • Contribute to the company's growing cloud footprint across Azure and AWS

  • Collaborate with application, manufacturing, and infrastructure teams on enterprise-wide initiatives

  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience

  • Strong Linux troubleshooting skills and understanding of administration best practices

  • Experience supporting Linux in a production environment

  • Understanding of scripting and automation concepts

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP environments

  • Experience with SUSE Linux and/or Red Hat Linux

  • Exposure to Salt, Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tools

  • VMware or other virtualization platform experience

  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure

  • Storage, backup, and disaster recovery experience

  • Manufacturing or plant-floor IT experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
