JOB SUMMARY

Position: Maintenance Associate

Pay Rate: $21.14 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility while performing general building maintenance and custodial duties. This role supports daily operations by ensuring the facility, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained and operating efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Maintenance & Cleaning

• Clean and maintain building floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.

• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials.

• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms and common areas.

• Dust and clean furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.

• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors, and glass partitions.

• Shampoo carpets and perform floor care activities, including stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors.

• Remove snow, debris, and other hazards from sidewalks, entrances, and dock areas.

General Maintenance

• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs to heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, and cooling systems.

• Inspect facility conditions and promptly report major repair needs to management.

• Monitor building safety and identify potential hazards.

• Assist with preventative maintenance activities to ensure the facility remains in good working order.

• Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

Operational Support

• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies using proper lifting techniques and material-handling equipment when necessary.

• Order and maintain adequate inventory levels of cleaning supplies and maintenance materials.

• Set up and break down tables, chairs, ladders, and equipment for meetings, events, and facility needs.

• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and work instructions.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently and on time.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

• High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.

Preferred

• Previous janitorial, custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general building maintenance.

• Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work requires moderate muscular exertion and/or physical strain such as frequently climbing or, recurring bending, lifting, or lowering of items weight up to 50 pounds.

• Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
