This is an opportunity to work on business-critical applications that directly impact client experience, advisor productivity, and Schwab's digital transformation initiatives.

You'll have the autonomy to influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and help modernize how software is built, tested, and deployed.

What You'll Do

  • Champion test automation, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and DevSecOps practices

  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews

  • Continuously improve application stability, performance, and user experience

  • Leverage modern AI-powered developer tools to enhance productivity and innovation

Collaborate and Lead

  • Partner closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams

  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning

  • Help establish engineering best practices and technical standards

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and product planning activities

What you have

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience

  • Strong experience supporting all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience building modern web applications using:

  • Angular (v19+ preferred)

  • TypeScript and JavaScript

  • HTML5 and CSS3

  • .NET / C#

  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and Web Services

  • Experience creating scalable application designs and translating requirements into technical solutions

  • Strong understanding of testing strategies like behavior driven development and test driven development

  • Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building cloud-native applications on GCP or similar cloud platforms

  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, App Insights, or OpenTelemetry

  • Experience optimizing high-volume, customer-facing applications

  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum teams
