Full job description

SkillStorm develops technical talent for Fortune 100 companies and U.S. government agencies. You'll begin with 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training, working on real projects as part of a team, and then go straight to an enterprise or government client, fully productive from your first day. You don't pay for this program. It's a salaried position with a clear path from "qualified" to "deployed professional."

We're looking for people at the start of their technical careers, including recent graduates and career changers with a technical background, who have the fundamentals, the motivation, and the interest in a structured route into enterprise software development.

Are you a fit? You probably are if you meet these:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field

  • At least one year of technical work experience

You'll also need a working knowledge of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and object-oriented development in a language such as Java or C#.

Every applicant who meets one of those paths gets an individual review for fit. If you're unsure whether you qualify, apply anyway. That decision is ours to make, so don't rule yourself out.

What sets strong candidates apart:

  • Sharp problem-solving and logical thinking

  • Clear written and spoken communication with teammates and stakeholders

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

  • Willingness to relocate for a client placement

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a SkillStorm W2 employee (no C2C arrangements)

Your work once you're placed:

  • Develop and improve applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools

  • Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards

  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support

  • Take part in code reviews, offering and accepting constructive feedback

  • Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications

  • Help with testing and production deployments, and keep technical documentation up to date

  • Stay current on industry tools and practices through ongoing training

Why candidates pick SkillStorm:

  • Competitive pay from day one, not training you have to fund yourself

  • Enterprise-level technical training and certifications

  • Assignments with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)

  • Ongoing mentorship and support during training and after placement
