Full job description

Lead and administer the Reserves Stewardship Program, including development of NOAA work plans and budgets, reporting requirements, supervision of staff, and participation in core Reserve operations. Represent the Mission-Aransas Reserve within the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) and broader resource management community, serving on relevant committees, workgroups, and partnerships to advance coastal stewardship, conservation, restoration, and science. Conduct and coordinate stewardship monitoring, restoration, and special projects, including, but not limited to vegetation, habitat adaptability, and biodiversity monitoring (data collection, management, and analysis), and the implementation of restoration and conservation-related activities within and around the Reserve. Promote resource management, stewardship, and community engagement, serving as a liaison to land and resource managers, supporting cleanup and recycling programs, and encouraging the use of Reserve data and information for decision-making. Manage geospatial and technical resources, including GIS mapping, geospatial data collection, vertical control support, and provision of spatial analysis and mapping services focused on restoration, monitoring, land management, climate resilience, and conservation efforts across the Reserve. Advance integrated Reserve programs and secure external funding, collaborating with Education, Training and Engagement, ARK, and Research staff to incorporate stewardship principles into programs, develop and manage grant efforts, and perform additional duties as assigned.
