Full job description

About Us:

Culture’s mission is to simplify and accelerate bioprocess development to enable our customers to bring their biopharmaceutical products to market faster.

With a focus on upstream cell culture process development, Culture has developed a unique platform that merges products, services and data management that can be applied to mammalian, microbial and viral vector production processes. This platform enables high-throughput process development projects to be rapidly and seamlessly executed directly by our customers in their own facilities, in our service laboratories, or both, all driven by our cloud-connected web application, accessible from anywhere, for designing, managing and analyzing experiments.

At Culture, we combine our passions for biomanufacturing, engineering, and operations to build new solutions that make bioprocess development faster. We value curiosity, communication, collaboration, a customer focused mindset and a drive for results.

The Opportunity:

Culture Biosciences is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator (Contractor) to support the day-to-day execution of Culture’s marketing programs. This role will work closely with the Marketing Director and provide hands-on support across marketing campaigns, creative production, website updates, and vendor coordination.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build broad experience in marketing within a fast-moving biotechnology company.

What You’ll Do:

Creative & Marketing Support

  • Assist with graphic layout and production of marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, one-pagers, social graphics, and trade show materials.

  • Make updates and revisions to existing marketing assets while maintaining Culture’s visual brand standards.

  • Work with the Marketing Director and external designers or creative partners to prepare marketing materials.

  • Help organize and maintain marketing files, templates, and brand assets.

Vendor & Budget Support

  • Coordinate with marketing vendors on project details, deliverables, timelines, and invoices.

  • Coordinate with vendors and Accounts Payable to ensure invoices are submitted and processed correctly.

  • Assist with purchase orders, vendor documentation, and other marketing-related administrative tasks.

Team Support

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to keep marketing projects organized and on schedule.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to gather information and complete assigned projects.

  • Manage assigned tasks independently and communicate proactively about priorities and deadlines.

  • Provide general marketing support as priorities evolve.

About You:

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, marketing operations, communications, or a related field; relevant internship or equivalent experience considered.

  • Experience with HubSpot or another marketing automation/CRM platform preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Basic experience with graphic design or layout tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experience updating websites or working with a CMS is a plus.

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, budgets, invoices, and vendor information.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new software and processes quickly.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and willing to jump in wherever needed.

  • Interest in biotechnology, life sciences, or technology is a plus.

Location & Schedule:

  • This is an onsite, 6 month contract position based in South San Francisco, CA.

  • Approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Base Hourly Range:

  • Culture Biosciences offers market-competitive compensation. Our expected hourly rate range for this contractor role is $38 - $52 per hour. Final rates may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, qualifications, and other factors.

Culture Biosciences provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants. We seek to build a company that promotes inclusion and expands the diversity of our industry as a whole. We encourage people with identities underrepresented in biotech and technology to apply.
