Job Title: Data Center Cleaning Technician

Job Description

The Data Center Cleaning Technician performs detailed final cleaning for a large, active data center construction site in Michigan City, Indiana. This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment by cleaning server racks, facility surfaces, and construction areas, including work at height using lifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed final cleaning of data center spaces, ensuring all areas meet high cleanliness standards.

• Wipe down server racks, cabinets, and related equipment surfaces with care and attention to detail.

• Sweep, mop, and dust floors and surfaces throughout the facility, including corridors and work areas.

• Support the cleaning team in meeting project timelines, with the project expected to run at least through March 2027, with potential extension.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and dusting for extended periods.

• Comfort working at height using scissor lifts or boom lifts to clean elevated structures.

• Ability to work safely and stay alert in a busy, active construction site environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or sanitation experience is preferred but not required.

• Prior experience working on construction sites or as a construction laborer is a plus.

• Experience with worksite cleanup, including handling construction materials and debris, is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based on an active construction site at a data center in Michigan City, Indiana, with many trades and activities occurring simultaneously. The work involves both ground-level and elevated cleaning tasks, including working from scissor lifts or boom lifts to reach structures near the ceiling. Two shifts are available: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Personal protective equipment is required, including jeans, work boots, a Type 2 hard hat (provided), and safety glasses. The environment is fast-paced and safety-driven, with a strong emphasis on awareness, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
