Full job description

Summary

You will serve a Postal Operations Specialist (POSTAL ADVISOR) NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Duties

  • You will perform special inspections and inspections at the direction of higher authorities.
  • You will review responses of inspected units to ensure proper corrective actions have been taken.
  • You will compose follow up inspection memorandum when required.
  • You will provide detailed inspection results to local command leadership as directed.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring units perform postal missions effectively, efficiently and in accordance with established guidance.
  • You will develop postal training materials and conduct Official Mail Manager (OMM) training for fleet and ashore units

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledgeable of USPS, DoW and DoN Postal regulations, instructions and directives; 2) Knowledge of mission, program goals, objectives, organization and work processes o postal service programs; 3) Thorough knowledge of U.S. and foreign postal laws, rules, regulations, directives, practices/procedures, postal rates, classes of mail, special and supplemental services; 4) Organizational skills to prepare instructional materials in advance conducting postal training sessions.
