ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - WEEKDAY DAYS: $32-$38/HR, VulcanForms (Devens, MA) VulcanForms - founded to develop the world?s first industrially scalable laser metal additive manufacturing solution. We build and operate advanced digital infrastructure combining scalable additive manufacturing and precision machining in a clean, safety-focused facility. About the Role: Operate, maintain, and optimize LPBF printers to support applications and process engineering for applications development and production readiness. Execute print builds, maintain equipment readiness, document build/process data, support printer installation and qualification activities, and collaborate with engineers to refine workflows. On-site role in Devens, MA. Hours: Monday through Wednesday and every other Thursday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Key Responsibilities: - Set up, operate, and perform daily maintenance on OEM Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) printers - Prepare and execute print jobs using OEM printer software, including build setup, file prep, and parameter selection - Support applications development by executing print builds accurately and on schedule - Assist with printer installation, qualification, and validation activities (IQ, SAT, OQ, PQ) and related documentation - Monitor print quality, identify machine/material/process issues, and escalate as needed - Maintain accurate records, build documentation, and process data to support traceability and continuous improvement - Collaborate with applications, process, and manufacturing engineers to refine materials, parameters, and workflows - Support OEM printer operations for application demonstration and production scaling efforts Qualifications: - Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience - 2+ years? experience in additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or a hands-on production environment - Familiarity with 3D printing/additive manufacturing concepts; LPBF experience preferred - Comfortable with technical software tools and following detailed work instructions - Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to execute repeatable processes - Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams Preferred: - Hands-on experience with metal AM systems (EOS, SLM, Renishaw, or similar) - Exposure to printer qualification, validation, or regulated manufacturing environments - Basic understanding of print parameters, material behavior, and post-processing workflows - Experience supporting applications development, prototyping, or early production builds Compensation: - Hourly Range: $32.00 - $38.00 / hr *Actual compensation based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
