Role Overview: V2X has a Project Engineering Internship opportunity for a current college student to join our Project Engineering Department in Indianapolis, IN during the Summer of 2027. As an Project Engineering Intern, you will work within a team of talented and experienced engineers leading the design, development, integration, and testing of V2X Projects in both airborne and ground based systems. The Project Engineering Intern will support all phases of the development process, working across disciplines to support the development of technical solutions and supporting a multi-discipline team, which includes Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineering functions, as well as other disciplines such as Production, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance. The Project Engineer works in a fast-paced environment providing technical leadership to design, develop, and deliver products to support the lifecycle of the program.

Project Engineering at V2X: Project Engineering is a specialized field within engineering that focuses on planning, managing, and executing projects. It combines technical expertise with project management skills to successfully achieve project objectives. Project Engineering demands a robust understanding of the project life cycle and its deliverables. Project engineers possess engineering experience, particularly in the development and execution of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Support the coordination and organization of the technical project team, including the ability to ensure all disciplines on the program execute within the established program budget and schedule.

• Coordinate the development of spend plans, staffing plans, the project schedule, and the program organizational chart.

• Support the creation of the project backlog, write user stories, and support management of releases for Agile Projects.

• Support project reviews, supporting the creation and presentation of program cost, schedule and measurement data to business leadership and customers.

• Collaborate with the Program Management to ensure technical cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved.

• Participate in Program Review preparations, supporting the program manager in the development of program review data for business leadership.

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (DoD, MIL-STD, ITAR, cyber compliance, etc.).

• Support proposals within Program areas. This includes supporting the assembly of engineering estimates, supporting Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and supporting the writing and review of proposal volumes.

• Support and Lead cross-disciplinary technical teams across systems, software, hardware, cybersecurity, integration, and test.

• Systems Engineering knowledge – Requirements Management, IV&V experience, and life cycle management of projects.

• U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract and export control requirements. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Windows.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Project and scheduling practices.

• Previous Engineering project and/or internship experience.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

Education & Experience:

• Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursing a technical degree in Engineering.
