We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

About Project Management

Halliburton Project Management provides integrated, end-to-end project execution across the well lifecycle — from concept and design through drilling, completion, and production. Leveraging Halliburton’s full suite of technologies, engineering expertise, and global logistics, we deliver turnkey and managed services that ensure wells are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. With a focus on collaboration, accountability, and performance assurance, our teams help customers reduce complexity and achieve consistent project success worldwide.

About the Role

The Business Development Manager leads the identification, framing, and advancement of integrated-asset opportunities within an assigned geographic market. The role connects customer asset objectives with Halliburton’s technical, operational, commercial, and product service line capabilities to develop differentiated solutions that improve field development, production, and asset value.

The position leads business development activity from early market and customer assessment through opportunity qualification, multidisciplinary due diligence, commercial structuring, negotiation, and pursuit decisions. It maintains a comprehensive view of market conditions, customer priorities, competitive activity, and a significant opportunity portfolio, typically supporting a revenue scope of approximately $100 million to $300 million.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead integrated-asset pursuits from opportunity identification through screening, framing, multidisciplinary due diligence, commercial evaluation, negotiation, and pursuit decisions.

  • Translate customer asset objectives, subsurface and production challenges, and economic drivers into differentiated Halliburton solutions and compelling value propositions.

  • Develop and maintain a balanced opportunity portfolio aligned with market conditions, customer priorities, technical feasibility, operational capacity, commercial risk, and expected financial value.

  • Establish and execute the business development strategy for an assigned geographic market, aligning commercial priorities with business objectives.

  • Build strategic relationships with existing and prospective customers, including operational leaders, asset teams, executive decision-makers, partners, and other key stakeholders.

  • Partner with account, technical, operational, commercial, and product service line teams to develop customer strategies and integrated opportunity plans.

  • Identify and advance cross-product-service-line opportunities that connect Halliburton’s capabilities to customer field-development and production objectives.

  • Maintain a current view of customer activity, market dynamics, competitive positioning, and emerging commercial opportunities.

  • Evaluate opportunity quality, commercial and contractual risk, expected value, and portfolio fit to support disciplined investment and pursuit decisions.

  • Communicate market intelligence, customer priorities, portfolio outlook, commercial risks, and growth opportunities to internal stakeholders.

  • Represent Halliburton in senior-level customer discussions and establish long-term, mutually beneficial commercial relationships

Qualifications

Required

Undergraduate degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, geoscience, or a similar discipline.

At least 10 years of related sales, commercial, or business development experience in a complex business-to-business environment.

Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and advance significant business opportunities.

Experience building and maintaining profitable customer relationships, including engagement with management and executive-level stakeholders.

Ability to assess market conditions and translate customer, competitive, technical, and commercial information into actionable business development priorities.

Experience collaborating across business development, account, technical, operational, commercial, or product-based teams to pursue customer opportunities.

Preferred

  • Fifteen or more years of relevant experience, including at least five years supporting integrated-asset management, asset development, or comparable upstream business-development opportunities.

  • Knowledge of the oil and gas value chain and project lifecycle, including unconventional field development, appraisal and development opportunities, mature-field redevelopment, or production optimization.

  • Experience identifying and advancing integrated-asset opportunities through the IAM Business Acquisition Process or a comparable structured opportunity-management process.

  • Commercial and contractual experience involving Production Sharing Contracts, Technical Service Contracts, concession agreements, customer terms and conditions, commercial-risk evaluation, or complex deal structuring.

  • Exploration and Production (E&P) experience, including field development, appraisal, production operations, new ventures, or asset management, with a major operator, independent oil and gas company, national oil company, or integrated oilfield services organization.

  • International or multi-regional business development experience, particularly across North America, Latin America, Europe, or Africa.

The successful candidate must be able to travel approximately 25%–30%, depending on customer, opportunity, and regional business requirements. Domestic relocation assistance may be available.

Candidates who possess qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements may be considered for higher-level positions based on experience, additional qualifications, demonstrated capabilities, and current business needs.
