Meet the Team

Cisco’s Cloud Security Engineering team within the Security & Trust Organization designs, builds, and operates services that secure Cisco’s public cloud estate across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. We partner with Security Engineering, IT, cloud operations, and internal business units to improve cloud security at scale. We’re building the next generation of cloud security services and controls, embedding security into the SDLC, creating secure paved paths for developers, and advancing prevention and remediation across Cisco’s cloud environments.

Your Impact

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team delivering and operating one or more cloud security services, such as Cloud Guardrails, Cloud Security Issues (Detect and Remediate), or Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).

  • Lead and develop an engineering team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Identify emerging security needs and capability gaps while shaping strategy and technical roadmaps for new and existing cloud security capabilities.
  • Own technical direction, delivery, and engineering quality, leading the team to develop and improve cloud security capabilities and integrate AI to strengthen security outcomes.
  • Champion AI adoption across the team to improve analysis, automate routine work, and streamline operations.
  • Establish engineering and operational standards across assigned services, using metrics to improve delivery, service quality, adoption, and security effectiveness.
  • Partner with program managers, IT, cloud operations, and business units to define requirements, resolve dependencies, and communicate progress and delivery tradeoffs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of engineering experience, including technical leadership.
  • 2+years of experience directly leading engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, career development, and stakeholder communication.
  • 5+ years of experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI), including cloud architectures, APIs, and integrations with the ability to assess technical tradeoffs and guide architecture decisions.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and governance principles, including identity and access management, security controls, policy enforcement, and risk remediation.
  • Experience leading the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of cloud or security services within an enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD, and software engineering practices to guide teams building services and automation.
  • Familiarity with shift-left security practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scanning.
  • Familiarity with security risks and controls for Kubernetes, Containers, and AI workloads.
  • Experience leading the integration of AI, LLMs, or agentic capabilities into production services.
  • Experience using CSPM, CNAPP, or comparable platforms.
