ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Perform a variety of precision surface grinding operations using hand grinders

Use portable grinders to remove surface defects such as laps, seams, pits and cracks as identified by in-process inspection. Use dyes penetrant to detect cracks.

Check materials for dimensional accuracy.

Visually inspect materials for surface defects and mark off for cut-off operations.

Exercise identity by heat number, order number, or other identifying coding.

Detect and report damaged material, improper operations. Refer questionable matters to proper supervision.

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Follow prescribed safety regulations.
NON-ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Perform other duties as required or directed.

At times, load and unload machine.
