Job Description Summary

The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

Job Description

The Planning Execution Specialist gives Product Operations clear visibility into material status, identifies supply risks and constraints, and drives actions to improve part readiness for engine-level execution. Working at the intersection of materials, product operations, and execution, this role shows where parts are in the supply chain, flags what could disrupt demand fulfillment, and drives the actions needed to protect business commitments.

The role applies FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s lean operating model, through Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Operating Cadences, and structured Problem Solving. By surfacing material issues early and managing them to closure, the Planning Execution Specialist supports Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance.

Service members with military supply chain experience, such as a 92A/920A or PLL background, would make a strong fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Material Visibility and Readiness

  • Provide clear, timely status of material availability for assigned engines, modules, product lines, or part families.

  • Track critical parts across the supply chain, including order status, expected receipts, inventory position, quality holds, and point-of-use readiness.

  • Translate part-level supply conditions into engine-level execution risk to support prioritization and decision-making.

  • Maintain standard, repeatable readiness tracking methods aligned with Standard Work.

Constraint Identification and Resolution

  • Identify material constraints affecting engine demand, build and test schedules, or delivery commitments.

  • Communicate risks from shortages, late orders, supplier delays, quality holds, transaction errors, or process gaps.

  • Drive recovery plans and keep issues visible until closure, with clear owners, due dates, expected impact, and status.

  • Apply structured problem solving to recurring material issues, from defining the gap through sustaining countermeasures.

Inventory and Execution Support

  • Analyze inventory position for critical parts, assemblies, and constrained materials.

  • Determine whether available inventory and inbound supply can support near-term engine demand priorities.

  • Monitor allocation issues, excess and shortage conditions, material aging, and availability trends.

  • Improve visibility into material flow from supplier through receipt, storage, and engine execution.

Risk Management and Escalation

  • Maintain a proactive view of supply risk for assigned scope, including risks that could cascade across schedules.

  • Escalate emerging issues with a clear statement of business impact, timing, severity, and recommended mitigation.

  • Develop and maintain part-specific recovery plans for high-priority shortages and constrained hardware.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the key liaison between Product Operations and supply planning, sourcing, procurement, warehouse, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and program teams.

  • Ensure stakeholders share a common understanding of part status, execution risks, open actions, and escalation paths.

  • Drive accountability for action completion through consistent follow-up in operating reviews.

  • Demonstrate the FLIGHT DECK behaviors of Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer-Driven execution.

Data, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Build and maintain part status trackers, shortage reports, readiness summaries, and action logs.

  • Analyze ERP/MRP data to identify gaps, trends, shortage patterns, and execution risks.

  • Prepare executive-ready summaries of key constraints, aging shortages, and recovery actions.

  • Create visual management tools and standard data review routines so the team can quickly recognize and respond to abnormalities.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, planning, or production support

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, such as Oracle, and Microsoft Excel, and demonstrated ability to learn multiple systems

  • Must be able to work with and handle controlled unclassified information and data

  • Evendale, OH – In office presence with hybrid options (Travel: 10%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, engine programs, or complex manufacturing environments

  • Knowledge of material flow from supplier through receipt, storage, and production use

  • Familiarity with inventory control, shortage management, or production support

  • Experience with executive reporting, action tracking, and operating cadences

  • Familiarity with lean principles, visual management, standard work, and structured problem solving

  • Experience in delivery-critical environments where supply constraints directly affect execution
