Full job description
Job Details: Position Summary: This position includes, but not limited to, the setup, tear down, and operating the grinder.
Responsibilities:
- Operate power lifts, hand mules, dumpers, augers, grinders, conveyors, mixers, and bone removal.
- Add water, cures, seasoning, corn syrup, and other ingredients to meat blends for correct batching of materials.
- Keep stuffers full of meat at all times.
- Keep accurate records of batches used in proper sequence with identification according to company policy.
- Weigh and dispose of inedible and edible guts.
- Moves up to 5,000 pounds of meat per day from tank to tank.
- Assemble and tear down all final grind equipment.
- Assemble, operate and tear down kuhl vat washer and verify/inspect that each vat is clean before covering with plastic.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and SAP functions.
- Ability and willingness to scan or input into computer system all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs.
- Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
- Ability and willingness to follow formulations on the computer and accurately record and report food safety or product information.
- Ability and willingness to obtain tow motor certification.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level 20 pounds or greater frequently.
- Must be willing and able to lift/lower/carry 20 pounds or greater with back and legs.
- Must be willing and able to move 5,000 pounds of meat per day
- The Team Member will work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.
- The Team Member will flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
- The Team Member will stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- The Team Member will work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
Preferred Skills:
- Machine Operator experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- RF Scanner experience preferred
Qualifications:
- 3 months of work history with the same employer
