Full job description
At its core, BasicBlock helps get truck drivers paid faster. Period. Our industry-leading software and financial services allow independent truck drivers to spend less time worrying about cash flow and more time focused on the road. Our company is one of the few workplaces where you can experience the drive and ambition of Silicon Valley alongside the friendly, hard-working qualities of the Great Plains. If you join our team, we’ll let you take the reins, as long as you produce quality work in return. We’re a focused and authentic team that prioritizes ownership and creates an environment where everyone can do their best work. Job Description We’re looking for a dedicated Office Manager who can keep our office running smoothly and stay on top of the details that keep our team organized and supported. You’ll work directly with our COO and take ownership of day-to-day office operations, employee onboarding, HR coordination, vendors, and supplies. When someone needs help or something needs to get done, you’ll be the person who figures it out and follows through. You should be exceptionally organized. Keeping schedules, files, and competing priorities in order should come naturally to you. We need someone who plans ahead, keeps track of the details, and makes sure items don’t slip through the cracks, even when several things are happening at once. Key Responsibilities
- Keep the office organized and stocked, and stay on top of vendors, cleaners, and maintenance.
- Coordinate team lunches and events, and handle ordering and distribution of company swag.
- Handle onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day HR coordination so employees get what they need.
- Manage equipment and software accounts, help with basic IT issues, and call in technical support when needed.
- Use AI tools to improve processes, automate routine tasks, and save the team time.
- Support leadership with projects and other business needs as they arise.
Qualifications
- Experience running an office, supporting a team, or managing day-to-day business operations.
- Exceptional organizational skills. You can juggle schedules and deadlines, keep clear records, and follow through without reminders.
- Clear communication, good judgment, and discretion with confidential information.
- Comfortable learning new technology and using AI tools in your daily work. You don’t need to be a technical expert, but you should know how to use these tools and check their work.
- Able to reliably commute to our Lincoln, Nebraska office. This is a full-time, in-office position.
What Success Looks Like
- The office runs smoothly, and employees have the supplies, equipment, and support they need.
- New employees arrive prepared for a productive first day, and onboarding and offboarding tasks are completed on time.
- Routine HR and internal operations needs are handled accurately and independently, with the right issues brought to leadership.
- Vendors, maintenance requests, events, and internal projects are managed from start to finish without reminders.
Benefits
- Employee stock options
- Paid time off
- 401k match
- Health insurance
- Dental insurance
- Vision insurance
- Complimentary caffeine, whatever your brand, soda, and snacks
- Weekly team lunches on us
