Full job description

Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Shipping, a rapidly growing business within Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS). You’ll be responsible for counseling the sales and business development teams on a broad range of commercial, licensing, technology and regulatory matters, and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. You will work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic issues and deals, and providing day-to-day input on business and strategy, and resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and will build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

Key job responsibilities

  • Counseling the sales and business development teams on a broad range of commercial, licensing, technology, and regulatory matters.

  • Structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial transactions.

  • Providing day-to-day input on business and strategy, and resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships.

  • Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and building resources and processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly and rapidly scale.

About the team

The ASCS legal team is embedded within Amazon Legal and partners directly with business leaders to enable one of Amazon's fastest-growing service offerings. We operate at the intersection of technology, logistics, and commerce — helping businesses of all sizes and industries leverage Amazon's logistics network. Our team values creative problem-solving, a bias for action, and building scalable legal frameworks that keep pace with rapid business growth. We foster a collaborative environment where attorneys are trusted advisors, not gatekeepers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

  • Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses

  • Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention

  • 12+ years of post bar admission legal experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent

  • Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
