About Us: Steeple Square is a mission-driven nonprofit advancing job readiness, affordable childcare, arts and cultural programming, and historic preservation. Our campus serves as a collaborative hub for community impact and sustainable event venue operations.

Role Summary

The Executive Director position requires a self-motivated individual that provides strategic leadership, drives fundraising, manages operations, and strengthens community partnerships. This role serves as Steeple Square’s chief ambassador and works closely with the Board, staff, volunteers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mission, strategy, budgeting, and organizational planning.

• Direct fundraising: major gifts, grants, sponsorships, donor relations, and campaigns.

• Grow program partnerships in job readiness, childcare, arts, and preservation.

• Oversee operations, staff/volunteers, compliance, and financial management.

• Serve as primary liaison to the Board; support governance and engagement.

• Support event rentals and campus utilization to ensure sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience accepted.

• Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

• Fundraising, donor relations, budgeting, and financial management skills.

• Effective communication, relationship-building, and strategic thinking abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and integrity.

Other Requirements

• Occasional evenings/weekends required

• Local travel; must have valid driver’s license

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and perform basic physical tasks
