As a Senior Buyer within Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Electrical Products (EP) business, you will drive material availability and purchasing execution for our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing operation. Based on-site at our manufacturing facility, you will interpret Material Requirements Planning (MRP) signals, manage purchase orders and supplier commitments, resolve complex material risks, and provide purchasing direction that protects production continuity. You will also guide the Buyer while partnering with planning, production, receiving, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to strengthen supply performance.

You will make an impact by:

  • InterpretingMaterial Requirements Planning (MRP) signals, demand changes, lead times,inventory requirements, and exception messages to make timely purchasingdecisions.

  • Managingpurchase orders and supplier commitments for production materials whileprotecting manufacturing schedules and customer delivery requirements.

  • Leadingsupplier follow-up and material-expediting activities, including pull-ins,push-outs, cancellations, backorders, and recovery plans for at-riskmaterials.

  • Analyzingpurchasing and material master data, including minimum order quantities,safety stocks, lead times, and purchasing information records, to improveplanning accuracy and supply continuity.

  • Escalatingsupplier performance issues and coordinating corrective actions thatimprove material availability, delivery reliability, and inventoryperformance.

  • Providingdirection to the Buyer by reviewing purchasing priorities, interpretingMRP requirements, and supporting resolution of complex material issues.

  • Coordinatingwith production, planning, procurement, receiving, accounts payable, andsuppliers to resolve shortages, Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR)discrepancies, and purchase order issues.

You’ll win us over by having the followingqualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Five+ years of direct purchasing or buying experience, depending onthe depth, complexity, and relevance of the experience.

  • Demonstratedmanufacturing or production purchasing experience supporting the flow ofmaterials into a manufacturing facility.

  • Strongknowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), including the abilityto interpret MRP signals, exception messages, demand changes, lead times,and inventory requirements.

  • Experienceplacing and managing purchase orders, following up with suppliers,expediting materials, and managing pull-ins, push-outs, cancellations, andrevised delivery commitments.

  • Experienceresolving material shortages, supplier delivery risks, backorders,purchase order issues, or other exceptions affecting production.

  • Proficiencywith SAP or another enterprise resource planning, purchasing, inventory,or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, for purchasinganalysis, reporting, and data management.

  • Demonstratedability to analyze information, prioritize material risks, and provideclear direction and recovery recommendations.

  • Abilityand willingness to work on-site at the Siemens Smart Infrastructuremanufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.

  • Legallyauthorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basiswithout company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advancedhands-on knowledge of SAP purchasing, MRP, supplier scheduling, inventorymanagement, or material master data functionality.

  • Experienceproviding direction, coaching, or day-to-day guidance to buyers,purchasing specialists, or other materials team members.

  • Experiencepurchasing electrical, mechanical, electronic, or other productioncomponents in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

  • Experiencewith supplier negotiations, sourcing activities, supplier performancemanagement, inventory optimization, or cost-reduction initiatives inaddition to direct purchasing execution.

  • Experienceresolving Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR) discrepancies andcoordinating with receiving, accounts payable, planning, and productionteams.

  • Bachelorof Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in supply chain management,business, operations, engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Engineeringexperience or technical knowledge related to electrical products,manufacturing processes, materials, or production operations.

  • Associationfor Supply Chain Management Certified Supply Chain Professional (APICSCSCP) or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)certification.

  • Acombination of education and directly related work experience will also beconsidered in lieu of a degree.
