Position Summary The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for delivering high quality modern data solutions through collaboration with our engineering, analysts, data scientist, and product teams in a fast-paced, agile environment leveraging cutting-edge technology including AI/ML and GenAI capabilities to reimagine how Healthcare is provided. You will be instrumental in designing, integrating, and implementing solutions on-premise as well as supporting migrations of existing workloads to the cloud, with a growing focus on building the data foundations (pipelines, feature stores, vector stores) that power AI-driven products. The Senior Data Engineer is expected to have extensive knowledge of modern programming languages, and experience designing and developing data solutions that increasingly support ML and generative AI use cases.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience working with SQL and relational database management systems
  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Data Engineering Platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake etc.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying Agentic AI solutions in complex cloud infrastructure environments, including orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) and integration with LLM APIs
  • Experience building data pipelines to support ML/AI workloads including feature engineering, embedding generation, and integration with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) for retrieval augmented generation (RAG) use cases
  • Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps practices, model versioning, monitoring, and data pipeline support for production ML/AI systems (e.g., Vertex AI, SageMaker, Azure ML)
  • Hands on experience with troubleshooting data issues
  • Hands on experience with various performance improvement techniques
  • Willingness to identify and implement process improvements, and best practices, as well as ability to take ownership to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based support environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical/AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with healthcare data and healthcare insurance feeds is a plus
  • Exposure to prompt engineering, model evaluation frameworks, or AI governance/responsible AI practices in a regulated (e.g., healthcare) environment

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
