Full job description
- Develop automatic fire sprinkler protection maintenance, repair and inspection program throughout SCDC in accordance with NFPA 25 and state Fire Marshall regulations.
- Perform maintenance on all sprinkler systems and water distribution systems.
- Supervise and install sprinklers and related systems in construction/renovation projects.
- Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency sprinkler maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
- Prepare justification and requisitions on all supplies remain abreast of new sprinkler techniques, procedures and equipment.
- recommend the procurement of and assist in supervising the installation of new sprinkler and underground utilities.
- Must maintain NICET certification, level three or higher.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and experience in the installations, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems. SCDC Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and 5 years of trades experience directly related fire/sprinkler systems to the area of employment.

Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct and work with other people.

Employee is also required to obtain a backflow tester license through DHEC.
