Full job description

Join our Deloitte AI & Engineering team to transform technology platforms, drive innovation, and help make a significant impact on our clients' success. You'll work alongside talented professionals reimagining and reengineering operations and processes that are critical to businesses. Your contributions can help clients improve financial performance, accelerate new digital ventures, and fuel growth through innovation.

Work You'll Do

As a hands-on Core Data Engineer III on the AI & Data team, you will own the human-facing surface of these agents: the interfaces where users launch agent runs, watch them think in real time, review and approve their output, and ship the results.

  • Build production React (React 19 + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind) UIs backed by a FastAPI service

  • Design streaming agent experiences over Server-Sent Events (live run progress, connection status, incremental findings)

  • Craft human-in-the-loop review flows - checkpoint approvals, natural-language rule authoring, ER diagrams, data-quality dashboards, masking review, and semantic-view editors

  • Set the front-end standards for the pod (component architecture with TanStack Query + react-router, an accessible design system, screen-reader support, and performance under large data-profiling payloads)

  • Demo working software live in front of CIOs, CMOs, and client data teams

A successful candidate would possess:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product

  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships

  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to provide clear guidance to others

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • 3-6 years of software engineering experience with deep React/TypeScript expertise

  • 3-6 years of experience with Python and React.js

  • 3+ years of experience building agent or conversational/streaming AI experiences (agent chat, token/event streaming, tool- and run-state visualization, long-running job UX)

  • 3+ years of experience with REST + SSE/WebSocket integration skills

  • Experience making complex, autonomous AI behavior legible, reviewable, and trustworthy

Preferred:

  • Design system fluency

  • Experience with GitHub Copilot
