Full job description

The New York Stock Exchange is seeking a Senior Manager to join its Transactions team — a group at the center of the NYSE's efforts to drive innovation and growth across US equities and options markets. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership, offering the opportunity to shape the future of trading.

In this role, you will spearhead the group's business development roadmap with the goal of driving innovation and growth across NYSE's equities and/or options business lines. You will work at the intersection of market structure, commercial policy, and cross-functional collaboration. You will design innovative methods to drive exchange trading product evolution, identify key market trends and develop advanced analytics to unlock the next growth opportunities for the business and industry. You will support the design and management of commercial policy initiatives and help drive market structure advocacy on behalf of the NYSE. In doing so, you will extend and defend the NYSE's leadership position across its cash equity and options trading, listings, and technology businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined workstreams within the group's business development agenda across equities and/or options, from opportunity identification through design, launch, and commercial impact measurement.

  • Support NYSE's market structure advocacy through empirical analysis, including but not limited to rule filings, comment letters, regulatory engagement, and industry forums.

  • Design and build innovative quantitative methods to analyze trading data, model market dynamics, and surface actionable insights that directly inform product development and enhancement.

  • Identify key market structure trends and emerging opportunities — translating research findings into concrete product concepts and strategic recommendations for the business.

  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to further develop and refine the product roadmap.

  • Regularly engage with NYSE senior management to present research findings, strategic recommendations, and product proposals.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a record of outstanding academic achievement. Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.

  • 7+ years of work experience in electronic trading, exchange operations, or other role with strong focus on US equities/options market structure.

  • Excellent understanding of US equity and/or options market structure and limit order book dynamics.

  • Expert proficiency in SQL and Python (other languages a plus).

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, following up with various stakeholders and determining the best course of action as circumstances warrant.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborative nature with strong intellectual curiosity.
