Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future

As a Sr Advisor, Functional Analyst, HR, you will provide functional ownership and support for Phillips 66's HR technology landscape. You will support custom-developed HR tools in close partnership with technical teams, provide functional support for third-party HR applications, and contribute to other areas of HR IT as business demand requires. Working with HR product owners, stakeholders, developers, vendors, and other subject-matter experts, you will translate business needs into practical solutions, troubleshoot issues, coordinate enhancements, and help ensure a stable and effective HR technology. You will support work from intake and analysis through solution design, testing, implementation, stabilization, and continuous improvement, bringing sound judgment, clear communication, and a strong service orientation to every engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Support integration with third-party HR applications and serve as the main point of contact between vendor and stakeholder.

  • Provide functional support for custom-developed HR tools, serving as the liaison between HR stakeholders and technical teams to clarify business processes, diagnose issues, and define enhancements.

  • Partner with developers, architects, integration specialists, and technical support teams to assess root causes, translate functional needs into requirements and functional specifications, and coordinate resolution of incidents, defects, and enhancements.

  • Receive, assess, and triage requests and incidents across HR IT based on business demand, evaluating priority, impact, risk, and dependencies while coordinating response and communicating status to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate discovery sessions with HR stakeholders and product teams to document current-state processes, identify pain points, and define practical future-state capabilities.

  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear business requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and supporting design and operational documentation.

  • Analyze end-to-end impacts across upstream and downstream processes, integrations, reporting, data, security, controls, organizational groups, and the employee experience.

  • Participate in solution design reviews and recommend practical, sustainable approaches that balance business value, user experience, risk, cost, supportability, and maintainability.

  • Support functional testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing, validating that delivered capabilities meet approved requirements and are ready for deployment and ongoing support.

  • Support data management and operational activities within HR systems, helping ensure data accuracy, integrity, timely issue resolution, and alignment with reporting and business needs.

  • Monitor post-implementation results, support stabilization and production readiness, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, standardization, and process efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of business processes, requirements, decisions, configurations, integrations, controls, test results, known issues, and operational procedures.

What You'll Bring - Required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a functional analyst, business analyst, application support analyst, or in enhancement and improvement projects.

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred

  • 6+ years of experience supporting HR applications such as WorkForce Software, SuccessFactors, 3rd party benefits apps, or experience implementing HR solutions.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting SAP ERP environments

  • Experience partnering with developers and technical teams to troubleshoot application issues, define enhancements, and deliver functional solutions.

  • Proven ability to translate stakeholder requirements into detailed functional design specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.

  • Strong analytical skills with a big-picture mindset and attention to detail, including the ability to assess impacts, dependencies, risks, and priorities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across HR, IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

  • Comfortable navigating complex, ambiguous, or high-volume information to troubleshoot problems, managing competing demands, and sharpen team analysis.

  • Skilled at identifying and implementing process efficiencies, with a focus on continuous improvement and reliable operational support.

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for commitments, service quality, and outcomes.
