The Specimen Technician role involves sorting, racking, registering, labeling, and storing specimens. The position requires data entry and miscellaneous tasks assigned by leadership, pertaining to the accession of frozen samples. The work environment includes cold conditions and requires lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort and rack specimens according to established procedures.

• Register and label specimens accurately.

• Store specimens in designated locations.

• Perform data entry tasks efficiently.

• Complete miscellaneous tasks as delegated by leadership.

• Handle frozen samples in cold environments.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma required.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Proficiency in data entry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Typing skills are essential.

• Experience in specimen registration is preferred.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Wednesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 6:30 pm. The dress code requires nails not to protrude through latex gloves to maintain safety standards. Employees can wear tee shirts with writing, provided it is not offensive or controversial, as a lab coat will cover their top half in the lab. Long pants are mandatory, with no tears or exposed ankles. Sweatpants are not allowed, and the use of yoga pants and leggings is under review for safety. Shoes must have no exposed skin, meaning no open toes or flip-flops. The company offers amenities such as a full gym, cafeteria, and team-building activities like food trucks and sundaes. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
