Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the senior Cyber Security Strategic Planner, overseeing cyberspace activities and operations planning at HQ ARTRANS to achieve the Commander's goals. Responsibilities Assess the effectiveness of existing cybersecurity controls to recommend improvements Review cyber directives and policies to ensure compliance with established cybersecurity standards. Conduct crisis action planning for cyberspace operations to render appropriate effects across the surface transportation enterprise. Develop operational procedures regarding cyber effects to ensure alignment with DoD, USTRANSCOM, and/or Army policies. Utilize advanced systems research and planning methods to guide long-range cybersecurity initiatives. Integrate information management technologies to optimize the development and management of cyber defense systems. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-13:One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Planning cyberspace activities in alignment with organizational goals and objectives; (2) Preparing and executing high-quality reports and presentations for high priority personnel; and (3) Developing and implementing operational procedures for cyber effects and cybersecurity initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Your experience must include or be supplemented by information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Network Defense Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
