Full job description
Description
The Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence (ASCI) team leverages natural language understanding (NLU), machine learning (ML), and big data to help Alexa identify and handle sensitive content — ensuring customers continue to have fun, engaging conversations with Alexa. We work at the intersection of trust, safety, and intelligence, applying state of the art Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies including large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems to solve some of the most complex content moderation challenges in the industry. We are a highly collaborative, fast-moving team that values technical excellence, innovation, and impact.
We seek a Software Development Engineer (SDE) II who is highly motivated, owns outcomes end-to-end, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that adopts AI and leverages various AI tools for quick problem solving. Our ideal candidate brings a strong sense of ownership, clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies — including agentic AI systems, LLMs, and LLM-based tools. You will lead the development and launch of new features that adopt agentic AI at scale, drive system architecture, influence team strategy, mentor engineers, and establish best practices that deliver a high-quality product. You bring a solid understanding of software design principles, a demonstrated track record of delivering new features and products to production, and a genuine passion for innovating on behalf of customers. You ramp quickly, raise the bar for the engineers around you, and bring direct, hands-on experience with agentic AI and LLM frameworks to solve production-grade challenges. You will own features end-to-end — from requirements to production — working directly with applied scientists, product managers, and senior engineers to protect and delight Alexa customers globally.
