Location: US:PA: Camp Hill

Work Type: Part Time

FTE: 0.50

Shift: Day

Hours: 20 hours per week; must have availability Mondays and Tuesdays

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Peer Specialist utilizes their lived experience with mental health recovery to serve as a role model and mentor to peers. The Peer Specialist exhibits competency in personal recovery and wellness and serves as a consumer advocate and recovery educator in the inpatient psychiatric setting. The Peer Specialist enhances the recovery culture of the hospital environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • History of maintaining at least twelve (12) months of full or part time work or volunteer experience within the last three years

  • PA Act 31 Child Abuse Training Certificate

  • CPI and BLS required prior to orientation completion

  • Peer Specialist Certification or enrolled in training to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist designation preferred.
