Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of embedded software systems. The selected candidate will work across the software development lifecycle, contributing to architecture development, requirements management, system analysis, design reviews, and software implementation in support of mission-critical programs in Huntsville, AL.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Software Developer will perform a broad range of engineering activities, independently or under general supervision, supporting the design, development, integration, and implementation of software systems and related technologies.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include:

Developing system and software architectures for embedded systems.

Managing and analyzing software requirements.
-
Designing, developing, and implementing embedded software solutions.

Reviewing system and subsystem specifications, interface documentation, and design artifacts for completeness, accuracy, and applicability.

Supporting system and subsystem design activities, trade studies, and performance analyses.

Interpreting and analyzing customer requirements.
-
Reviewing, verifying, and validating system specifications and other technical documentation.
-
Participating in hardware and software design reviews, technical interchange meetings, management reviews, and configuration control boards.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and five (5) years of relevant professional experience; Additional six (6) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:

Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Active Secret clearance preferred

US Citizenship required
Required Qualifications
-
Experience developing software in C++ within an embedded environment.

Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design using Unified Modeling Language (UML).

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, documentation standards, and CMMI methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with VxWorks.
-
Experience using IBM Rhapsody.

Experience using IBM DOORS.
Target salary range: $100,001 - $140,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
