General Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related field. Nine years of experience in a related field. A combination of some education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of a department with the oversight of the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Student Success. Performs highly advanced and complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning in the Academic Success Center.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

Directs the administrative and operational activities for the Academic Success Center on behalf of the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Student Success. Establishes the strategic plan and goals and objectives. Oversees and develops the student staff hiring process, including the hiring and training of hundreds of student employees, and supervises a coordinator and a specialist position. Monitors institutional and grant budgets to ensure accurate and efficient fiscal management, oversees budget change requests, manages P-Card purchases and associated expenditures, and trains directors on proper time approval procedures and budget processes. Creates electronic personnel action forms (EPAFs) and processes payroll documentation for student workers, including the College Work Study program. Oversees event planning and coordination led by the specialist position, ensures workload compliance across the office, and manages departmental supply inventory. Serves as the primary coordinator for International Faculty/Staff matters, including employment authorization documentation, international EPAFs, and international travel documentation. Works with contracted attorneys on necessary paperwork, coordinates payments and required documentation with departments, and serves as the designated signature authority for filing paperwork. Manages the full scope of administrative operations for the office of the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Student Success and provides administrative support to Academic Success Center Directors as needed. Exercises independent decision-making authority as delegated by the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Student Success. Enforces department policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
