Full job description
HFM BOCES is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a School Monitor at its Gloversville Middle School site. The School Monitor plays an important role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities include:

Supervising students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the school day.

Monitoring hallways, common areas, and school activities to promote student safety and appropriate behavior.

Assisting with the implementation of behavior management strategies and providing support to students as needed.
-
Working collaboratively with district safety personnel to address safety concerns and support school security efforts.
-
Monitoring and assisting at school events and activities.
-
Providing support to classrooms and instructional staff as requested.
-
Collaborating closely with BOCES administration, school personnel, and support staff to ensure a positive educational environment.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience working with school-aged children preferred.

Fulton County Civil Service
This is a Non-Competitive Civil Service position. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.
TEACH Clearance
Per the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on the ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
