About the Position: Serves as a Health Technician (Surgical) in a clinic within the Defense Health Agency at Naval Medical Center - Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Follow pre-operative nursing care plan in preparing the patient and operating room.
• Prepare required supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Obtain supplies needed during surgery.
• Clean operating room after surgery and replenish general supplies.

GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: preparing the patient and operating room; handing instruments to the surgeon during the procedure; obtaining supplies needed during surgery. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
