Job DescriptionAHRC New York City is seeking Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs.Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am -2:30pm (30 hours per week).Pay Rate: $20 per hour....NO BENEFITS!Why become an AHRC NYC DSP! The reward of helping others and building long lasting relationshipsThe feeling one gets from improving the quality of life for others.Job Stability and Career advancement.Paid TrainingHands on work experienceResponsibilities: Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.The oversight of all safety and health considerationsPromoting skill development, interests, and hobbiesAssisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) Qualifications High School diploma or GED is required.Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.Understanding of Person Centered Planning.Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
