Job Description:

Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is proud to announce our new Summer 2026 Nurse Resident Program. As the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area, our 5x Magnet designated, 183-bed facility excels in various specialties including general, bariatric and vascular surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, oncology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, pain management, obstetrics/gynecology, and a Level IIB Special Care Nursery.

This program is designed to support new graduate nurses and those transitioning into a specialty area, bridging the gap between academic and professional practice. Nurses with less than one year of experience will participate in this year-long program, which includes in-person, hands-on learning with 12 weeks of weekly clinical classes and clinical experience with a unit-based preceptor. Following the completion of the weekly classes, residents will engage in monthly sessions focusing on peer support and professional development topics such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, fostering their growth into confident professional nurses.

We aim to empower future nurses in our community with the necessary tools and resources for success.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a board-approved program

  • Completion of all clinical rotations and eligibility to sit for the RN registration exam (NCLEX)

  • Basic Life Support Certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Availability to work 36 hours a week (all shifts), including three 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday rotation

Pay Range:

$36.00 - $90.14

Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities. Beth Israel Lahey Health requires that all staff be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
