Senior Quality Development Engineer

Employer: InterSystems CorporationLocation: 1330 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10019 Position: Senior Quality Development EngineerJob Description: Design and establish tools and automation infrastructure, consistent with departmental standards to meet changing requirements. Design and develop automated functional, load and stress tests for InterSystems IRIS Data Platforms Cloud products, with focus on configurations and data that fairly represent customer systems, including protocols such as JDBC and OAuth2. Develop test scenarios, author and execute test plans. Specialize in high availability and performance. Provide mentorship and coaching to other team members. Review product source code, design documents, and requirements to inform test design for edge and stress test case development for key areas of the product such as failover and recovery. Write software to test product functionality in a heterogeneous multi-platform environment with a focus on testing destructive events. Collaborate with inter-departmental teams to provide early feedback on new features. Promote product quality by advocating for the customer's point of view as well as verifying that the product meets the customers needs. Communicate about defects for assignments that range from verification of targeted changes to optimizations for new hardware, and where specifications range from informal concepts to detailed descriptions. Review the documentation and verify that it is clear and concise. Ensure that the documented procedures are clear and easy to follow. Telecommuting allowed 1 day per week.Requirements: Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Will accept Masters degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Must have two years of experience in each of the following skills: understanding of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC); cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or GCP; container technologies including Docker, or Kubernetes; application development, relational databases, or object-oriented development; Object-Oriented programming (Java, DotNet, C#, C++, or Python); Windows batch and PowerShell scripts, or alternatively, UNIX sh and bash scripts; distributed systems, or cloud networking; and UI (Angular, Typescript, or JS) or UI Test Automation (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress).Must pass InterSystems pre-hire Technical Employment Test (TET) with at least 17 out of 20.
