Job Description:

The success of Bank of America Global Payments Solutions is dependent on our ability to continually evolve and differentiate the digital experience we provide to clients. CashPro is Bank of America’s award-winning, industry-leading digital banking platform, providing corporate and institutional clients globally with integrated access to payments, liquidity, reporting and other treasury capabilities. CashPro Payments is at the center of that experience, enabling clients to initiate and manage payments across geographies, payment types and digital experiences while continuing to evolve alongside changing client expectations, industry standards and the global payments landscape.

We are seeking an experienced, intellectually curious and highly motivated CashPro Payments Product Manager, Vice President to help shape and deliver the next generation of digital payment capabilities. The ideal candidate combines strong product and payments knowledge with an execution mindset, global perspective and the ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed organization.

The Product Manager will take a holistic, end-to-end view of payments, understanding how capabilities move from client initiation through digital experiences and connectivity, processing, clearing, operations and servicing. The role requires someone who can operate comfortably at multiple altitudes, from getting deeply into payment flows, formats, requirements and operational processes to translating complex issues into clear product strategies and senior-level narratives.

The Product Manager will:

  • Lead complex payment initiatives from strategy through execution, implementation and commercialization, maintaining accountability for progress and driving initiatives through to completion.

  • Provide end-to-end product management across digital payment capabilities, balancing client needs, business priorities, market developments, risk, operational considerations and technology requirements.

  • Develop strong knowledge of global payment types, digital experiences and connectivity models and understand how capabilities and changes impact the complete client and payment lifecycle.

  • Maintain a 360-degree view of product delivery, anticipating dependencies and readiness requirements across Product, Technology, Sales, Implementation, Operations, Servicing, Risk, Communications and other stakeholders.

  • Partner globally to define payment solutions, negotiate and document scope and requirements, identify dependencies, ask the critical questions and drive decisions needed to maintain delivery momentum.

  • Lead the product response to regulatory, clearing-system, network and industry mandates, translating external change into client, digital experience, processing and operational requirements.

  • Partner closely with Technology while providing the business and product context necessary to develop scalable solutions and thoughtfully challenge assumptions, requirements and proposed approaches.

  • Navigate details and complexity while being able to return to high-level simplicity, translating underlying issues into clear implications, options and decision points for senior management.

  • Apply a systems-thinking mindset, looking beyond an individual feature or project to understand upstream and downstream impacts across platforms, processes, clients and stakeholders.

  • Proactively identify barriers, risks and unresolved dependencies, bringing the right stakeholders together and driving issues toward resolution.

  • Drive operational excellence and client-experience improvements, considering not only how a capability is built, but how it will be implemented, supported, serviced, communicated and adopted.

  • Develop and communicate compelling product narratives, including strategies, business cases, roadmap priorities, client communications and executive presentations.

  • Represent CashPro Payments credibly with clients, Sales, senior leaders, Technology, Operations and other internal and external stakeholders, adapting communication style and level of detail to the audience.

  • Monitor developments across the payments and technology landscape, including ISO 20022, real-time payments, APIs, evolving connectivity models, automation and artificial intelligence, and assess their implications for clients and the product roadmap.

  • Contribute to a culture of strong risk management, intellectual curiosity, constructive challenge and accountability.

  • Support the development of teammates by sharing knowledge, encouraging critical thinking and helping others work through complex product and payments challenges.

Required skills: "Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified

  • 10-15 years of relevant professional experience, with significant experience in product management, product development, payments, transaction banking, treasury services, digital financial services or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex, highly visible, cross-functional initiatives from strategy and concept through delivery, commercialization and ongoing product management, with a strong sense of ownership and a consistent track record of driving initiatives through to completion.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end product management, including strategy, requirements, roadmap prioritization, solution development, implementation, launch and ongoing product management.

  • Experience working across functions such as Technology, Sales, Implementation, Operations, Servicing, Risk and Communications to deliver client-facing capabilities.

  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, highly matrixed and globally distributed environment, while adapting to changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to act independently and drive execution while exercising sound judgment regarding when broader stakeholder alignment and consensus are required.

  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, identify dependencies and connect seemingly disparate issues.

  • Ability to work through details and complexity while distilling issues into high-level simplicity for senior management and developing practical paths forward.

  • Strong systems-thinking capabilities and ability to anticipate upstream and downstream impacts across technology, operations, client experience and the broader product ecosystem.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize multiple inputs into a cohesive story, recommendation or decision framework.

  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with the ability to communicate credibly with clients, senior executives, Sales partners, technologists and operational stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes without direct authority across complex organizational boundaries.

  • Intellectually curious, confident and motivated by learning, continuous improvement and constructive challenge of the status quo.

  • Ability and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves, develop subject-matter expertise and remain engaged in the details necessary to achieve successful outcomes.

Desired skills:

  • Strong knowledge of global payments, including ACH, wire/high-value payments, cross-border payments, real-time/instant payments and emerging payment capabilities.

  • Experience with corporate digital banking experiences and connectivity, including online banking, host-to-host/file-based connectivity and APIs.

  • Knowledge of ISO 20022, payment messaging standards and their implications across payment initiation, processing, status and reporting.

  • Experience with corporate payment file formats and connectivity standards, including XML and other ERP/TMS-to-bank integration models.

  • Understanding of the broader corporate treasury technology ecosystem, including how ERP platforms, Treasury Management Systems, payment hubs and banks interact across an end-to-end payment flow.

  • Experience translating regulatory, clearing-system, network or industry mandates into client-facing product and digital-experience capabilities.

  • Understanding of API-based payment initiation, reporting and digital banking services, including the evolving roles of APIs and traditional file-based connectivity.

  • Global experience or demonstrated understanding of differences in payment practices, clearing infrastructures, regulations and client requirements across markets and regions.

  • Strong knowledge of Treasury Management and the needs of large corporate and institutional clients.

  • Experience engaging directly with clients and translating voice-of-client feedback into product strategy, requirements and roadmap priorities.

  • Familiarity with Agile product-development methodologies and tools used to manage complex product and technology roadmaps.

  • Strong market awareness and interest in competitive intelligence, fintech developments and emerging payments technologies.

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, and intellectual curiosity regarding their potential impact on treasury, payments and the client experience.

  • Experience developing business cases, product strategies, roadmaps, executive presentations and client communications.

  • Ability to analyze data and establish meaningful measures of product performance, adoption and success.
