Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact and empowering the people who make water work every day. As a leading water technology company with 23,000 employees operating in over 150 countries, Xylem is at the forefront of addressing the world's most critical water challenges. We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.

We are looking for a commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to grow our Industry and Infrastructure business across the South of the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop existing accounts, win new customers and identify opportunities to provide Xylem’s extensive range of products, services and engineered solutions. You’ll work within our non-municipal sales team, collaborating closely with regional sales colleagues, service managers and field sales engineers.

The position can be based anywhere within the southern region and will involve regular travel across the territory.

As Regional Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of business development across a diverse range of sectors, including:

  • Industrial

  • Construction

  • Environmental

  • Offshore

  • Ports and airports

  • Road and rail

  • Contractors and consultants

You’ll focus on expanding Xylem’s presence within these markets by combining strong customer relationships with a proactive approach to new business development. Your portfolio will include product sales alongside service projects, installations, repair and refurbishment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow existing, previous and prospective customer accounts across the southern region.

  • Identify new opportunities that align with Xylem’s product and service capabilities.

  • Increase our share of customer spend by introducing the breadth of Xylem’s products, services and solutions.

  • Create, maintain and deliver effective account and call plans.

  • Build strong, sustainable relationships that bring customers closer to Xylem.

  • Develop and maintain key commercial agreements, including appropriate discount and rebate arrangements.

  • Work with internal teams to ensure commercial agreements and associated financial arrangements are managed accurately.

  • Research market conditions, competitor activity and pricing to support sales strategy, budgeting and decision-making.

  • Produce short-, medium- and long-term sales projections and accurate forecasts.

  • Work closely with the Accounts team to support effective customer account and payment management.

  • Deliver customer presentations and Lunch & Learn sessions.

  • Organise customer-facing events, including innovation days, site visits and factory visits.

  • Help resolve customer issues, complaints and urgent requests where required.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring strong commercial experience gained within the services sector or a related market, together with the confidence to develop relationships and create opportunities across a complex regional customer base.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • An engineering or business qualification, or equivalent relevant expertise.

  • Experience of developing and implementing sales strategies.

  • Strong sales forecasting and business-planning skills.

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Windows-based applications.

  • Experience using a CRM platform, preferably Salesforce.

  • Existing relationships with relevant non-municipal organisations, design engineers, Tier 1 contractors or mechanical and electrical contractors.

  • Membership of a relevant industry body, although this is advantageous rather than essential.

  • A full driving licence.

Why Join Xylem?

At Xylem, you’ll have the opportunity to represent a broad portfolio of products, services and engineered solutions while building long-term relationships across some of the UK’s most important industrial and infrastructure markets.

This is a highly visible regional role for someone who enjoys opening doors, developing commercially valuable partnerships and turning customer needs into sustainable growth.
