Job Description
Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join an enterprise engineering team responsible for building and modernizing scalable applications and APIs. This position will be approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend, with a strong emphasis on Node.js, API development, AWS, and application architecture. The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer who can not only write high-quality code, but also understand the broader architecture behind an application, contribute to design decisions, review code, and help guide technical conversations across the team. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale APIs and backend services, primarily using Node.js
- Build integrations across SQL and NoSQL databases and other enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and S3
- Contribute to frontend application development using React and/or Angular
- Work within existing environments that may include legacy Java services and applications
- Participate in system design and architecture discussions, helping evaluate technical approaches and trade-offs
- Build and deploy applications through CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct code reviews and promote strong engineering and development practices
- Troubleshoot complex application, API, and integration issues across the stack
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers when needed
Pay rate range: 70-76/hour
Skills and Requirements
- Strong full stack engineering experience, particularly backend focused with Node.js (React/Angular on the frontend)
- Strong API development and integration experience, including working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Deep cloud-native AWS expertise, with hands-on experience across Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and more.
- Strong understanding of application architecture and system design, with the ability to explain technical and architectural decisions beyond the surface level
- Experience deploying applications through CI/CD pipelines and working in continuous delivery/deployment environments
- Ability to participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, technical design, and engineering best practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical guidance/leadership within an engineering team
- Exposure to Java backend environments is helpful, particularly working with or integrating into legacy applications eCommerce experience
- Experience with complex eCommerce business logic, such as tax, pricing, checkout, payments, or order processing
