Full job description

Marketing & Communications Intern

Help Shape the Future of Human Connection Imagine being part of a team developing technology that could help someone who has lost the ability to communicate with their loved ones again. At Paradromics, we are building brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) designed to restore communication and computer control for people living with severe motor impairment. Our work combines advanced neuroscience, artificial intelligence, engineering, and clinical innovation to restore lost human capabilities and open new possibilities for how people interact with technology. We believe the future of brain-computer interfaces will change lives, advance human capability, and restore hope for people and families facing extraordinary challenges. We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team for the Spring 2027 semester. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience inside a pioneering neurotechnology company while helping communicate scientific breakthroughs, support industry events, engage influential audiences, and build awareness of a rapidly advancing field. You will work alongside experienced marketing, communications, scientific, and business leaders and see firsthand how a high-technology medical device company builds its brand, earns trust, and communicates with the world. What You'll Do Event Marketing & Brand Experience

  • Support planning and execution of industry conferences, scientific meetings, speaking engagements, community events, and corporate activities.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including registration, shipping, promotional materials, schedules, vendors, and on-site preparation.
  • Assist with speaker submissions, presentations, event research, and post-event follow-up.
  • Help create engaging brand experiences that introduce Paradromics and BCI technology to new audiences.

Media Relations & Corporate Communications

  • Support media relations activities, including journalist research, media list development, interview preparation, and press materials.
  • Monitor media coverage of Paradromics, competitors, and the broader neurotechnology industry.
  • Assist with media coverage reports, press kits, news announcements, and communications campaigns.
  • Learn how a medical technology company communicates scientific and clinical advances accurately and responsibly.

Market Insights & Community Engagement

  • Support research into patient populations, unmet needs, and potential applications of BCI technology.
  • Support AEO/SEO optimization research for outreach through social media platforms
  • Perform competitive analyses and provide novel insights for strategic planning
  • Help organize research findings and develop concise presentations or reports for internal audiences.

Marketing Operations & Analytics

  • Support project tracking, team coordination, and campaign reporting.
  • Assist with organizing media, event, website, and digital marketing performance metrics.
  • Help maintain databases, outreach lists, event calendars, and project documentation.

What We're Looking For We welcome undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business, or related fields. Students studying science, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or healthcare who are interested in marketing and communications are also encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for science, technology, and innovation.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to find, evaluate, and synthesize information.
  • Comfort working with Google Workspace and AI research tools
  • Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • The ability to manage several projects and collaborate with people across disciplines.

Experience with social media, graphic design, digital marketing, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or project management tools is a plus, but not required. You do not need previous experience in neuroscience or medical devices. We are looking for someone eager to learn, willing to contribute, and motivated by meaningful work. What You’ll Learn This internship offers broad exposure to the business of bringing breakthrough technology into the world. You will gain practical experience in:

  • Medical Device Marketing: Understanding how companies communicate emerging medical technologies, clinical evidence, and innovation within a regulated industry.
  • High-Tech Marketing: Learning how complex technologies are positioned, differentiated, and introduced to investors, clinicians, partners, and the public.
  • Event Marketing: Learning how to plan and execute conferences, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, and stakeholder events.
  • Strategic Communications: Seeing how messaging, storytelling, research, and evidence build a credible corporate reputation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with marketing, clinical, engineering, neuroscience, and executive leadership teams.

You will also have the opportunity to take ownership of a defined semester-long project, presenting your findings and recommendations to members of the Marketing & Communications team. Why Paradromics? Brain-computer interfaces are advancing from decades of scientific research into human clinical studies. The possibilities are extraordinary, beginning with restoring communication and independence for people who have lost those abilities. At Paradromics, you will be part of a team working at the frontier of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and medical technology. You will see how breakthrough engineering is translated into real-world clinical applications and how thoughtful communication can help build understanding, confidence, and trust in an entirely new category of technology. Most importantly, you will be contributing to work that has the potential to change lives. Join us in advancing human possibility and helping build a future where technology restores hope, strengthens human connection, and expands what people can achieve. How to Apply Please submit your résumé and a brief statement describing your interest in marketing and communications, technology, and the opportunity to work at Paradromics. Writing samples, design projects, or examples of relevant academic work are optional and may be requested during the interview process. Compensation - $25/hour | Weekly hours - 24 hours/week | On-site role | Final start/end dates January 11, 2027 – May 14, 2027 |
