Utility Relief II | Sunday - Thursday

Position Overview

This position is Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7am.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To provide breaks for selected jobs and to keep the coating area clean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

I. Giving breaks and filling in for absenteeism for the following jobs as directed:

A. Included jobs:

  1. Sew-On Operator (JD 4671)

  2. Sew-On Lift Truck Operator (JD 4670)

  3. Froth Operator (JD 4673)

  4. Console Operator (JD 4672)

B. When giving breaks, the Utility Relief will be responsible for all requirements of that job.

C. Break times will be designated by the shift supervisor.

II. Cleaning work area

A. Clean and sweep up coater twice per shift

B. Area of responsibility starts at the South Docks and ends at the south end of the shearing machine.

C. Scrap boxes will be made up at the start of each shift.

  1. Sew-On

  2. Selvage Baler

  3. Coater Console

D. Complete necessary steps to process scrap through MRM. Weight scrap each shift if necessary.

E. Blow out trim knives once per shift.

F. Help clean oven screens for clean-up walk.

G. Balers must be blown at end of each shift.

H. Keep baler screens clean at all times.

III. Attendance Policy

A. Must adhere to the Corporate Attendance Policy

B. Must notify the previous shift supervisor of an imminent absence 1 to 2 hours before shift change

C. Must speak personally with supervisor detailing the reason for absence

IV. Work Schedule

A. Must work all scheduled work hours for your shift

B. Must be able to work weekends

C. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts

D. Must be able to work holidays as necessary

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

I. Housekeeping

A. Make up boxes for trash and recyclable material

B. Keep strings cut off rollers

C. Keep scrap picked up and placed in correct containers.

D. Wipe down guard rails and machinery.

II. Painting

A. Clean and paint all areas assigned during downtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to:

  • Withstand temperatures of 100 degrees

  • Climb onto the sew-on table 40-60 times per shift

  • Pull carpet from the floats onto the sew-on table

  • Climb ladder into carpet floats (9 feet high)

  • Get on and off lift trucks over 60 times per shift

Stand for long periods of time
