Outreach Laboratory Assistant Knox Community Hospital Career Department Laboratory Status Full Time Shift 5:00am - 1:30pm Average Weekly Hours 40 Contact Employment Specialists Phone [740.393.9612]{rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"} [740.393.9643]{rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"} Email [[email protected]]{rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"} JOB SUMMARY Travels to Nursing Homes - Mileage is reimburseable No Weekends or Holidays The Laboratory Assistant reports to the Laboratory Director. Collects, accessions, requisitions and processes specimens for testing. Makes certain that orders are complete and authorized and contain patient information needed for billing purposes. Registers patient orders. Performs therapeutic phlebotomies. Performs general office/clerical responsibilities and phlebotomy. Maintain inventory supply. Option to perform Point of Care tests. Requirements Include - Will be driving personal car and insurance verfication - High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Graduate from an approved Phlebotomy School/Program, or 1+ years' experience performing venipunctures in a hospital setting - Experience in phlebotomy preferred. - CPR certification required within 4 months of employment and must be current at all times thereafter To apply, click APPLY NOW
