Full job description

The Opportunity

As the Actuarial Director of Consolidated Reporting & Regulatory Oversight, you will lead consolidated actuarial valuation reporting across the enterprise, including quarter-end and year-end reporting. You will translate complex valuation results into clear, decision-useful insights for senior leaders across the CFO organization. You will also lead the annual asset adequacy testing process and establish a coordinated, enterprise-wide approach to monitoring, assessing, and implementing emerging actuarial regulations and professional guidance. In this highly visible role, you will help strengthen reporting discipline, regulatory readiness, governance, controls, and continuous improvement across the valuation function. Success in this role requires deep valuation expertise, an enterprise perspective, strong execution, and clear communication. You will anticipate reporting and regulatory developments, create accountability across complex cross-functional processes, and build scalable processes and controls that promote quality, timeliness, transparency, and continuous improvement.

The Team

You will join the Consolidated Reporting & Capabilities team within Corporate Actuarial and Business Analytics and report to the Head of Valuation Consolidated Reporting & Capabilities. The team partners closely with production valuation teams and stakeholders across Corporate Actuarial, Controllership, Forecasting, Legal & Compliance, Reinsurance, and Technology. Together, the team is focused on producing reliable enterprise-wide valuation reporting, strengthening governance and controls, and preparing the organization for evolving actuarial and regulatory requirements.

The Impact

  • Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of quarterly and year-end consolidated valuation results, exhibits, disclosures, and actuarial reporting deliverables across applicable reporting bases.
  • Own the consolidated analysis of reserve movements, earnings impacts, assumption and model changes, experience variances, and other key drivers of financial results. Synthesize results across business lines and legal entities to identify emerging themes and risks and provide forward-looking insights to senior leadership.
  • Establish consistent valuation governance, documentation, controls, change management, and review standards. Partner with key stakeholders to align actuarial reporting with financial statements, management reporting, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the annual asset adequacy and cash flow testing cycle, including planning, governance, production coordination, aggregation, review, and communication of results. Establish enterprise-wide timelines, deliverables, assumptions, methodologies, documentation expectations, review checkpoints, and quality standards.
  • Oversee the preparation of supporting documentation, management materials, regulatory submissions, audit support, and materials required by the Appointed Actuary. Lead post-cycle retrospectives and implement process, model, data, control, and documentation improvements.
  • Lead an enterprise-wide actuarial regulatory monitoring framework covering valuation, reserving, asset adequacy, capital, actuarial reporting, and related professional practice requirements. Coordinate technical impact assessments, maintain accountability for implementation activities, and represent the valuation organization in relevant internal and external working groups.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, data science or closely related field.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
  • 7+ years’ actuarial experience in valuation and reporting
  • 5+ years’ experience working with valuation systems
  • 3+ years’ exposure to valuation regulations and financial statements under US Statutory and GAAP reporting

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of actuarial experience in modeling, valuation, reporting, pricing, assumptions development, or risk management.
  • 1+ years working knowledge of U.S. life insurance and annuity products.
  • Experience data lake environments, and related reporting tools
  • Expert knowledge of U.S. Statutory and GAAP financial reporting, including Principles-Based Reserving and GAAP Long Duration Targeted Improvements.
  • Experience leading complex actuarial valuation and reporting processes.
  • Deep knowledge of life insurance and annuity products, valuation techniques, regulations, and methodologies.
  • Experience with asset adequacy testing, cash flow testing, or actuarial projections.
  • Strong modeling, technical, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, decision-useful insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across cross-functional groups.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on governance, controls, and operational excellence.
