Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing organization. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for an opportunity that may transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding payroll-related questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly payroll for employees.

• Review and validate employee timecards, hours worked, and payroll adjustments.

• Ensure accurate processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, and deductions.

• Maintain payroll records and employee data within the payroll system.

• Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other withholdings.

• Coordinate payroll-related activities with Human Resources and Accounting teams.

• Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits as needed.

• Stay current on payroll laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and payroll reconciliations.

• Assist with benefit deductions, PTO tracking, and employee record maintenance.

Requirements

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.

• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.

• Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar systems.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
