Full job description

Suvi is looking for a Senior Administrator to work in Alexandria, VA on a hybrid basis. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

The SCCM/MECM/Intune Senior Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, training of junior staff, troubleshooting, and operational support of enterprise Windows endpoint management capabilities.

The position provides senior-level administration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), including application deployment, device collections, task sequences, configuration baselines, software updates, reporting, and client health. The administrator serves as an operational technical escalation point for complex endpoint management, patching, deployment, and configuration issues and provides guidance to other administrators and support teams. The Senior administrator coordinates with the SCCM / MECM / Intune Senior Engineer on critical development projects and provides design, build and delivery planning advice and recommendations. As the organization expands its use of Microsoft Intune and cloud-based endpoint management, the administrator will actively engage, develop proficiency, and assume increasing responsibility for Intune administration and operational leadership. The position works closely with cybersecurity, Active Directory, infrastructure, application, and service management teams to maintain secure, compliant, reliable, and supportable endpoint services. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting, PowerShell skills, change management discipline, documentation practices, active cross team communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a controlled enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot MECM/SCCM infrastructure and endpoint management capabilities, including client health, application deployment, software distribution, inventory, and reporting.

  • Package, test, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise applications using MECM/SCCM and increasingly Microsoft Intune Win32 application capabilities.

  • Create and maintain device collections, task sequences, Configuration Items (CIs), configuration baselines, deployment rules, and related endpoint configurations.

  • Administer monthly Windows patching and vulnerability remediation using Software Update Groups, Automatic Deployment Rules (ADRs), maintenance windows, CMPivot, reporting, scripts, baselines, and targeted remediation methods.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of application deployments, patch failures, task sequences, client issues, policy conflicts, configuration drift, and endpoint compliance problems using MECM logs, PowerShell, Event Viewer, Client Center, CMPivot, and other diagnostic tools.

  • Engage in the continued adoption of Microsoft Intune, developing expertise with application deployment, Windows update management, security baselines, compliance policies, and other cloud-based endpoint management capabilities.

  • Help establish and mature Intune administrative practices, documentation, troubleshooting methods, and operational standards as endpoint management capabilities transition toward greater cloud management.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, Active Directory, Group Policy, network, infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve endpoint issues and remediate security vulnerabilities.

  • Follow established change management processes, maintain accurate technical and operational documentation, and provide senior-level guidance and mentoring to administrators and support personnel.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required. Significant relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • IAT Level II certification or an equivalent certification.

  • Demonstrated senior-level experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft SCCM/MECM in an enterprise Windows environment, including application deployment, device collections, task sequences, configuration baselines, software updates, and client troubleshooting.

  • Strong Windows systems administration knowledge, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows endpoint configuration, software installation, patching, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency with PowerShell and command-line tools for endpoint administration, automation, diagnostics, software deployment, and remediation.

  • Ability to perform independent, evidence-based troubleshooting of complex endpoint management and deployment issues and serve as a technical escalation point for other administrators and support teams.

  • Any clearance requirements for this position are established by the government contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune or demonstrated experience supporting a transition from traditional MECM/SCCM management toward cloud-based or co-managed endpoint management, with the ability and interest to develop into a technical leader for Intune administration.

  • Experience supporting endpoint vulnerability remediation, security compliance, enterprise patching, or endpoint management within a U.S. Government or similarly controlled environment.

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
