Full job description

Your first software role, backed by a company built around getting people placed.

SkillStorm prepares technology professionals for Fortune 100 companies and U.S. government agencies. You'll complete 12 weeks of paid, hands-on training built around real, collaborative team projects, and then go straight to work on-site with an enterprise or government client, fully effective from your first day. There's no tuition and nothing to pay for. This is a paid position with a defined route from "qualified" to "deployed professional."

We're looking for people at the start of their technical careers: recent graduates, career changers who already have a technical foundation, and transitioning service members and veterans. If you've got the fundamentals and the motivation, and you want a structured way into enterprise software work, this was built for you.

Are you eligible? You most likely are if you meet these:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or something comparable)

  • At least 1 year of technical work experience

In addition, you should have a working grasp of programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, databases and SQL, and object-oriented development in a language such as Java or C#.

Everyone who meets one of these paths gets an individual review for fit. Not sure if you make the cut? Apply anyway. Deciding that is our job, so don't talk yourself out of it.

What sets strong candidates apart:

  • Sharp problem-solving and logical thinking

  • Clear communication, both written and spoken, with teammates and stakeholders

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

  • Willingness to relocate for a client placement

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a SkillStorm W2 employee (no C2C arrangements)

Veterans and transitioning service members: Structured training, a defined mission, clearance-eligible work, and relocation support. This model mirrors how you already work, and we want you in this pipeline.

Your work once you're on assignment:

  • Develop and improve applications using your client's languages, frameworks, and tools

  • Produce clean, efficient, well-organized code that meets professional standards

  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects, and provide technical support

  • Take part in code reviews, offering and accepting constructive feedback

  • Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical specifications

  • Assist with testing and production deployments, and keep technical documentation up to date

  • Stay current on industry tools and practices through continuing training

Why candidates pick SkillStorm:

  • Competitive pay. You're salaried from day one, not footing the bill for your own training

  • Enterprise-level technical training and certifications

  • Placement with Fortune 100 companies and government agencies

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus a 401(k)

Ongoing mentorship and support from training through placement
