Founded in 1990, WWT brings together strategy, deep technical expertise and world-class partnerships to help public and private sector organizations design, build and scale intelligent AI, digital, cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure solutions. Through its Advanced Technology Center (ATC)—a collaborative ecosystem featuring state-of-the-art hardware and software—WWT enables clients and partners to conceptualize, test and validate innovative technology and then deploy solutions at scale using its global integration and distribution capabilities.

With more than 14,000 team members and over 60 locations globally, WWT's culture—grounded in core values and leadership philosophies—has been recognized by Fortune® and Great Place to Work for its commitment to innovation, trust and creating a great place to work for all. WWT provides products and services to large enterprises, global service providers and public sector clients in up to 130 countries across six continents. Softchoice, a World Wide Technology company, supports commercial and SMB markets in the U.S. and Canada.

Role Overview:

As a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE), you will lead the technical vision for Fortune 500 clients across industries. This senior pre-sales role is ideal for a seasoned engineer passionate about designing big-picture solutions and guiding customers through complex digital transformations.

No two days are alike—one day you’ll design multi-cloud strategies or modern data centers, the next you’ll demo advanced security solutions. As a trusted advisor partnering with sales, you’ll align customer goals with innovative technologies. With access to our world-class ATC for demos and workshops, you’ll deliver top-tier results. If you thrive on solving complex problems and staying ahead of tech trends, this role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical sales strategy for assigned accounts, proactively identifying customer challenges and designing innovative architecture solutions that deliver real business value.

  • Partner with Client Executives in customer engagements – from discovery meetings and whiteboard design sessions to product demos and solution presentations.

  • Translate customer requirements into custom technical designs and compelling proposals, simplifying complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the broader account team – including services, project management, and other technical specialists – to deliver a cohesive strategy and consistent architecture across the account.

  • Build and manage strong relationships with customer teams, becoming their go-to consultative advisor.

  • Clearly set expectations, communicate with precision, and lead conversations rather than just attend them.

  • Use your business insight to understand clients’ operations and guide them toward strategic, future-proof solutions.

  • Work closely with our partners and OEMs (leading technology vendors) to craft unified solutions.

  • Leverage internal resources – regularly utilize the ATC for hands-on workshops, demos and proofs-of-concept – to accelerate sales cycles and show value early.

  • Stay ahead of tech trends and emerging technologies, expanding your expertise across adjacent domains (think cloud, security, networking, digital workplace, etc.).

  • Be curious and creative in finding new ways to solve customer problems. Provide thought leadership by sharing insights on new technologies and best practices with clients and internally within our engineering community.

  • Embrace our core values and team culture in every interaction.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, services, partners) and model our culture of innovation, teamwork, and customer-first service.

  • Ensure every solution and customer experience reflects the quality and integrity our company is known for.

Qualifications: (what we’re looking for in the ideal candidate)

  • Proven track record (typically 8+ years) in solutions architecture or systems engineering roles, designing and supporting complex solutions in large enterprise environments.

  • Deep technical expertise in core data center domains – including compute, storage, backup, and hybrid cloud – with hands-on experience designing and supporting them for large enterprises.

  • Broad Technical knowledge in adjacent IT domains – for example, enterprise networking (data center, campus LAN/WAN, wireless), security infrastructure (next-gen firewalls, zero trust), and collaboration/unified communications.

  • Consultative thinker who approaches problems holistically. Able to weave together hardware, software, and services from a broad portfolio of vendors to meet complex customer needs.

  • Experience working with and leveraging OEM partner solutions in areas like cloud, storage, cybersecurity, etc., to drive successful outcomes is highly valued.

  • Sharp business acumen and consultative skills – you listen to a client’s business objectives and translate them into technical requirements and strategy.

  • Comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders to articulate the business value of technology solutions in clear, impactful terms.

  • Skilled communicator with strong presentation and demo abilities. Adept at simplifying complex ideas for both technical and executive audiences.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, delivery) and with external partners.

  • Able to lead by influence, manage expectations, and drive alignment across stakeholders to move deals forward.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.

  • Travel:Ability to travel up to ~25% for client meetings, training, and other events as required.
