Full job description

Description We are looking for a proactive Property Associate (PM) to support daily building operations and administrative activities for a Contract position based in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering excellent service, staying organized, and helping a property management team keep operations running smoothly. The role offers broad exposure to tenant relations, financial coordination, office support, and property administration in a detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver responsive support to tenants by addressing questions, arranging follow-up on service needs, and helping drive resolution for facility-related concerns.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the property management team through accurate data entry, document preparation, and upkeep of records and internal databases.

  • Handle routine financial support tasks such as processing accounts payable and accounts receivable items, reviewing certificates of insurance, and coding invoices correctly.

  • Coordinate with vendors and monitor work orders to help ensure maintenance and repair requests are completed on schedule.

  • Contribute to the preparation of recurring property updates, financial summaries, and management reports for leadership and clients.

  • Assist with lease-related administration, including onboarding activities for tenants, organized filing, and ongoing communication support.

  • Help organize tenant engagement efforts by supporting building notices, events, and other initiatives that improve the overall occupant experience.

  • Step in as needed to support front-desk coverage, mail handling, and other general office operations essential to the property.

  • Take on additional operational duties required to support property management commitments, regulatory compliance, and efficient site performance. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, communications, or a related field.

  • 1–2 years of experience in an office setting, with commercial real estate or property management experience preferred.

  • 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing or service-oriented role.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Excellent organizational ability and a proven capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated approach and willingness to learn in an entry-level property management role.

  • Familiarity with financial administrative tasks such as invoice coding, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or insurance documentation is preferred.

  • Experience with Yardi is a plus, but not required.
