Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a growing organization in Florida. This contract opportunity offers the potential for a long-term role and is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage complex close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and strengthen day-to-day accounting processes. The role calls for strong analytical judgment, a solid command of ledger activity, and the ability to keep reconciliations and reporting on track in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing transactions, and ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy

Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and correcting financial activity across assigned accounts

Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and a strong focus on completeness and precision

Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies until fully resolved

Complete bank reconciliations regularly and investigate variances between banking records and internal financial data

Support financial reporting by organizing account analysis and providing clear documentation for period-end results

Partner with internal stakeholders to improve accounting workflows and uphold consistent financial controls Requirements • Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with hands-on responsibility for full month-end close

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation

Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations accurately and on schedule

Experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving unreconciled items efficiently

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial record maintenance

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
